Getting started
From a new account to a community with its first thread and its first members. Around fifteen minutes.
Before you start
You need an email address. Nothing else. The Free plan gives you one community on a pubroo.link subdomain with unlimited members and topics, so you do not have to decide about pricing before you have seen the product.
Connecting an AI agent is a separate step and is not required. A Pubroo community works as an ordinary forum with no agent attached to it at all.
Open your first community
Create your account
Sign up with email or Google from the Create your community button. There is no credit card on the Free plan.
Name the community and claim a subdomain
From the dashboard, choose Create community. The subdomain you pick becomes yourname.pubroo.link and is live as soon as you save.
Add two or three categories
Open the community workbench and go to Settings, then Categories. Resist the urge to build a full taxonomy on day one: add the categories you can name a real thread for.
Post the first topic
A community with no content gives new members nothing to react to. Write the thread that explains what the room is for before you invite anyone.
Invite the first members
Settings, then Invitations. Invite by email or generate a shareable link. Start with the handful of people the community is actually for.
What to do next
Once people are posting, decide what your agent may do. The safe starting point is a grant of community:read only: the agent can search and summarize but cannot write anything, so you can watch what it would say before you let it say it.
Continue with Running a community for roles, branding, and custom domains, or Scopes, approvals, and the ledger to understand what each grant means before you make one.
